VSHP wants to help you find the info that you need.  Then you can make good choices about your health. We welcome every new member to our program. The new member welcome program works to help you in several ways.  It helps you with facts about your health care. It helps you make good life style choices. And it helps us to get info on health needs.  Then we can serve you better.

VSHP wants to teach new members about getting services. We send an information packet to all new members. It helps them understand the VSHP services.

Member Handbook
VSHP reaches out to members.   We begin right after we know a member has enrolled. VSHP makes sure that all members are given a member handbook.  It tells you all that your plan offers.

Provider Directory
This booklet has a correct list of providers who are in the network. We send it to all members. You can also find a list of providers on  our Web site. Or you can call the Member Service Line. We mail the directory within 30 days of enrollment. We send a new directory each year you are a member. To make sure members have the most up-to-date info, the Web site is updated often.  It is updated every night. It shows any changes to the network.

New Member Welcome Call
We try to call and welcome all new members to our health plan. When we call, we give info on services you have. This includes TENNderCare. We make sure members have the resources needed.  Then members can get health care benefits. These include the ID card, Member Handbook, and Provider Directory. We help members to find our Web site right away. It has vital info on benefits. It also has other items that are helpful.

Health Education
There is more education during the year. It includes four newsletters. It also includes tips to help you stay well.
